Checking Out Library Materials
Patrons must have their own valid library card in hand to check out items. Patrons agree to return all library items checked out by the due date and to pay any fines and/or damages accrued on their library card and any other library card they have co-signed. Item circulation per library card is limited to ten items. Within the ten-item limit, a patron may have up to four videos/DVDs. Entertainment videos/DVDs are checked out for five days, all other items are checked out for three weeks.
Patrons must have their library card in hand to check out items and to use the Internet and word processing computers of the library. Library staff will hold items 24 hours for patrons who need to get their card or a patron may purchase a new card for $1.00.
A patron checking out items on another patron's library card must provide the following:
- A signed statement authorizing another patron to pick up their items.
- The patron's library card.
Videos/DVDs and talking books are to be returned inside the library during business hours or placed in the A/V drop box beside the library entrance. Return all other items via the curbside book drop or the circulation desk book return. A $1.00 fine per item is charged to a patron's account for videos/DVDs and talking books/CDs placed in the book drop.
