 Week 1: Mentoring the Next Generation of Building Professionals

Saturday, May 6, 2017
Location: New KB Copano Ridge
               Subdivision - 100 Haven Grove
Time: 2 PM - 5 PM

Kids, ages 6 and up, will have a unique opportunity to walk in the footsteps of an inspector, engineer, builder, and contractor and learn the skills of each trade. Hosted in the new residential subdivision under construction in UC, the kids will get to explore homes under construction and learn all the aspects of construction and inspection. Participate in a Building Inspection Scavenger Hunt, Blue Print Creation, and Building Bridges.

 Week 2: Building Designs Solutions for All Ages

Universal City residents are encouraged to attend this event and engage with local building, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC contractors to learn what options are available to remodel their home to accommodate their future needs.

 Week 3: Manage the Damage - Preparing for Natural Disasters

Location: UC Park Pavilion
                 305 North Blvd.
Time: 9 AM - 11:30 AM

Kids are invited for a scavenger hunt and other fun activities to learn the importance of making a plan for the disasters and how those disasters can affect our community. Free hot dogs, chips, and drinks.

 Week 4: Investing in Technology for Safety, Energy, and Water Efficiency

Location: City Hall Council Chambers
                 2150 Universal City Blvd.
Time: 9 AM - 11 AM

Residents are invited to this final outreach event for informative presentations on home safety, energy conservation, and water efficiency.
